In May, we continue to focus on the Developmental Asset: Positive View of Personal Future, the qualities, experiences, and relationships that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. We want our children to know they can make a difference and do many things they can be proud of. I think it would be great if everyone in your family sat down together to brainstorm ideas for this topic: Do Something you can be Proud of Everyday. Make a list of ideas and have each family member to commit to focus on one idea throughout the week. It may be fun to record each members’ commitment and follow up on their progress daily. I plan to take time every day to recognize others for their hard work, positive outlook or good deeds. Doing something multiple times forms a habit. We may all find new habits of positive behavior that make us proud everyday! I’d love to hear from you and your children what you’re proud of doing.
Proud to be your principal,
