Her power point presentation on The Social and Emotional Needs of Advanced Level Learners, along with a list of useful resources, is now available at http://hcpssgtac.wordpress.com/. Dr. Schuler is a National Certified Counselor and provides a number of strategies for parents to use. Her list of resources includes four pages of books and magazine articles. The next G/T Parent Academy presentation will be held on February 23, 2010, at Lime Kiln Middle School from 7-8:30 PM. The featured speaker will be Ms. Kathleen Cecil; she will discuss “What Parents Can Do To Foster Talent in Young Children (ages 3-7).” Due to the overwhelming interest in our academies, parents are asked to register to attend this academy by visiting the G/T Advisory Committee website at http://hcpssgtac.wordpress.com. Pointers "Fun" Run Sponsors are needed.  What a great way to support your child's school and promote your business at the same time.  There are great benefits by sponsoring this event.  Please click on the link to find out more.  ANNOUNCING TO ALL BUSINESSES.pdf In February 2011 Pointers Run will be hosting its first annual STEM Fun Day in which students in grades K through 5 will be participating in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math activities all day long.  Students will rotate through 5 - 6 stations in their grade completing a variety of engaging activities.  If you are a professional in a STEM field or are just interested in getting involved in this exciting day, we are looking for parent volunteers to organize and/or run activities, and discuss their career for multiple student groups.  If you are interested or would like more information, please email Jessica Brown at Jessica_brown@hcpss.org.  The event is far away but it is going to take a lot of planning to make the day a success, please reserve your spot now!  Thanks!
