Principal’s Pointers 6.2.17
Oh what a year! I continue to be amazed and gratified by the collaboration and interaction that is ongoing between our staff and parents. Our year has been filled with countless activities that were successful and enriched the lives of our students. Let me refresh your memory! In September parents and staff participated in several “Back to School Nights” as well as enjoyed each others’ company at our PTA Back to School Picnic (a little bit of rain didn’t even put a damper on the evening!) October brought back our Walking Wednesdays, Boy’s Night Out, and our ever popular Halloween Parade and festivities. November we celebrated American Education Week, conducted Parent/Teacher conferences and participated in the annual Turkey Trot. We started our new year with Winter Concerts and celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year. In February we enjoyed Winter Family Fun and our students gave back to the community with Jump Rope for Heart. In March many participated in Family Reading Night, Parent Teacher conferences, Girls’ Night Out, while our Kindergarteners learned about “Eating a Rainbow”. April brought our culminating event for Celebrating 25 years of Pointers Pride. In May our students demonstrated their talents in the International Talent Show as well as showing their skills in our Science and Enrichment Fair. While June is not over, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the FABULOUS PTA End of Year Picnic. The weather was most cooperative, the activities highly engaging and a good time was had by all! Pointers Run is a special school, where staff and community work in tandem. Together, we do wonderful things for our children. Thank you for all of your support. I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing summer.
Proud to be your principal
